Born and raised in Wisconsin, Alissa could never stay away from her home state for long. She attended Knox College in Illinois for a mere year before returning home and finishing her schooling at UW-Madison, where she earned a degree in English (emphasis in creative writing) and religious studies (primarily focused on Eastern religions).
A lifelong lover of magic and whimsy, Alissa primarily writes fantasy. Though she is in the process of editing her first two manuscripts, she still makes time to work on new stories. When not writing or working at UW Health as a scheduler, she enjoys cross-stitching in a corner at social events and watching movies, especially old and/or foreign films.
